Before we even see each other, I’ve had several conversations most parents ahead to determine our goals for the shoot. Sometimes it’s just to get updated images, Holiday cards, some family member is in town, to have a great framed family photo above the fireplace or like this time to replace some older images in frames already hung. Knowing this ahead directs my eye during the shoot. I know the frames were hung vertical in a ‘portrait’ style so I needed to shoot that way. We also determined cozy sweaters would be fun even though the weather hadn’t and leaves had just started to turn. Turned out a great thought because it was chilly! I loved that mom & dad made a Dunkin stop on the way. Got some bonus shots of them together in the joyful boy energy. When they look back at the album, it’s a happy snug family being comfortably laughing and enjoying each other.
So this baby girl decided to join the world a bit earlier than she maybe should have. She’s got some amazing genes and strong spirit. We’re so happy she is healthy. Even if she wasn’t psyched to be in pictures this particular day. The gal did not crack a smile, but we got some cute images regardless. After shooting a bit outside, we checked out her adorable purple butterfly nursery. She rocked a bit and had a bottle. And then her hands…oh my. Rumor has it she does it with every bottle. So cute! Then just because and since she really can’t do anything about it, that girl got decked out. We’ll share a color version next time when she actually fits the outfit. Ha!
Happy to congratulate this new family of four. Because so much of the first month is spent at home, I was delighted to capture what life looks like right now for them. The weather was like today cloudy and rainy so we were indoors at their sweet cocoon of a consuming new baby. Watching the confidence of experienced parents and how the 2nd reminds you how tiny that first had been was lovely. This gal is in good hands!
What fun to see Olive’s big brother Maxwell adjusting. So adorable, he was proud to show me his trains and jump on the couch. He got read to, played with and held, but isn’t quite ready to do that with his baby sister. A kiss or two wasn’t too much to ask. How sweet to wait and see their relationship develop as she becomes more interactive and can play.
Meanwhile, at almost a month old, little Olive didn’t want to miss my visit. She would intensely study her parents and big brother then look right at my camera, so unusual for newborns at this stage. Enjoy some baby charm and take some photos that capture what happens at your nest on a rainy day.
Sending warm wishes on her 14th month birthday. Looking forward to positive results for this joyful warrior baby and her loving family. Cake was made by her crafty momma, check her site at
Outside again – finally! With a bit of a chill in the air, the playfulness of this family warmed everything especially the playground. Twin energetic yet curious boys turning 3 and a big sister with the most gorgeously soft real smile that may just overshadow the mischief in her eyes. A detail Dad with a quiet manner and an on top of it while so patient mom that is a soft place to fall. Their tender connection to each other and quickness to laugh was so inspiring and fun! Been thinking so much lately about focus and how it really is important to capture your family in the realness. Feeling so incredible lucky to do what I do. Feast your eyes on some of the sweetest moments.
Not a newborn baby specialist, I prefer the challenge of capturing a delightful laugh of a smirking kid running and looking back to see if you’re following. However, if you add a patient tiny preemie to two spirited brothers, that’s a combination like chocolate & marshmallow. Enjoy the deliciousness.
Welcome baby Chase!
Armed with a special angel & two other brothers that are sure to be “the only people that will bug you for their own entertainment and beat up anyone else who tries.”
So happy for the parents of this crew. A house full of boys is the best.
Wanting to mark her last pregnancy with maternity pictures, Kerrin didn’t want something that wasn’t her. We agreed that the simpleness of every day can be so beautiful.
The surprise for both of us was when she actually delivered way ahead of schedule two days later. So enjoy some lovely before and afters….
So thrilled for a healthy addition to the family. His own page is next…
